On September 28, 2007, Japan's Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology approved the proposed merger of Keio University and Kyoritsu University of Pharmacy. The merger will be completed on April 1, 2008, a move that will result in the establishment of the Keio University Faculty of Pharmacy and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
